*No matter how stormy life feels for you right now in the “wubble,” Jesus wants you to come to Him, to ask for what you need, and to thank Him in all circumstances. Consider the following verses and what they say about dealing with difficulties of life and the strong emotions that come with them. What do they tell us about who God is?
Psalm 18:16-19
He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.
He rescued me from my strong enemy and from those who hated me,
for they were too mighty for me.
They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my support.
He brought me out into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in
me.
Matthew 8:23-27
Jesus Calms the Storm
Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
Romans 8:31
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 1:7
...for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
If you find that you are struggling in this stormy season, why not consider creating a playlist with
worship songs to remind you of who He is and listen to it often? Whether we use our own words, read sections of Scripture that reveal God’s character, or sing along with a worship song, praising God is a mighty tool that helps us to stay grounded, trusting God when our emotions and circumstances threaten to overwhelm us.
